Frequently Asked Questions
What is ART HOUSE?
What is Augmented Reality (AR)?
How does ART HOUSE work?
Using our mobile application, we are able to use your device’s camera and motions sensors. When you view an Art House AR-activated image (we refer to these as ‘markers’) through the app, that marker comes to life with your uploaded content by placing an augmented reality digital layer over the physical layer. You can then swipe to view more layers (different content).
What types of content does ART HOUSE support?
Art House is built with versatility in mind. We have developed the app to work with videos, 360 photos and images, audio, links, and more. As we continue to develop the app, we will begin to support more content. For an updated list of technical specifications, please click here.
What types of assets does ART HOUSE support?
Art House can augment virtually any image or graphic. Here are some examples of use-cases: Billboards, signs, posters, postcards, photographs, stickers, business cards, brochures, one-pagers, books, magazines, murals, art, apparel...
Why ART HOUSE over other AR experiences?
Before Art House, there was no centralized, go-to application for augmented reality with the dynamic ability to have many layers per experience. Instead, the field has been disjointed with many AR apps built around specific projects. Our future-proof platform replaces the many per project AR apps with a singular, centralized platform. By empowering brands with this technology - static, transactional consumer interactions are replaced by dynamic, narrative experiences.
How can I test the ART HOUSE app?
What is a QR code?
A quick response (QR) code is a barcode that can be scanned by the camera on your mobile device. Once you have the Amazon AR Player app downloaded to your smartphone, you’ll use the QR code to launch AR experiences.
How do I scan a QR code?
Open the camera on your mobile device and point it directly at the QR code printed on the Art House activated item. The experience will automatically launch when you scan the item using the Art House AR app or Art House Immediate experience.
What smartphones are compatible with the app?
More than 300 smartphones are compatible, including Apple and Android devices. Please note: the app requires Android 10, iOS 12, or later.
What if I denied access to my camera and gallery?
Why does the app need access to my device?
The app needs access to your device’s camera in order to activate the AR and the photo gallery so that you can save photos from the experience.
